From 27 to 30 June, the 9th International Linux Vacation / Eastern Europe 2013 conference. At about 30 reports and workshops were presented during the event, which gathered active representatives of the Open Source community from Poland, Estonia, Finland and eastern European countries.
Promwad traditionally sponsored LVEE and participated at the conference. This year, we presented the following reports:
- Anton Mikanovich "Network devices control via TR-069" — an overview presentation on the TR-069 open standard used to provide centralized remote management of subscriber devices (routers, modems, VoIP-phones, IPTV STB, etc.)
 - Andrei Pushkin "Course on the Linux kernel programming at BSU" — presentation of the educational program, Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science. The course was designed for third-year students and aimed at increasing interest in the field of Open Source software
Among the most popular 2013 LVEE topics it is worth mentioning databases and their use, Linux multimedia features, educational programs in universities, programming languages, the problems of Open Source project support, and other interesting issues.
The conference was held at a cozy camping site on the shore of White Lake and brought together more than 160 people. According to the organizers and participants, the level of LVEE 2013 reports was high, and the accompanying informal chat was sincere.
Promwad granted a special prize for the best report of the conference — PocketBook e-book under the Linux operating system.
