US Market Entry: Promwad Brings Parshkov R&D Lab In-House
The move expands our portfolio of reusable engineering platforms and IP cores with deeptech capabilities, and establishes Promwad's first permanent presence in the United States.
Promwad, an engineering company with 22 years of experience and 500+ shipped projects, is welcoming Dmitry Parshkov's R&D lab into the team. His lab becomes part of Promwad, we move forward under one brand, and his office in San Diego becomes our new home in the US — marking Promwad's entry into the American market in a new form.
The combination pairs Parshkov Lab — a research team focused on patents, inventions, and product thinking — with Promwad's own team of 100+ engineers experienced in taking a design through certification and into serial production. Together, we form an American technology company with our own IP portfolio, spanning advanced manufacturing and intelligent devices, backed by two decades of Promwad's engineering work.

From custom projects to reusable building blocks
The move continues a strategy Promwad began several years ago: building engineering platforms and IP cores in-house. Rather than boxed products, these are reusable engineering building blocks — validated in real projects — that let clients start from a working architecture instead of from scratch, reducing technical risk and making timelines more predictable.
"For years, one thing bothered me," said Roman Pakholkov, Founder and CEO of Promwad. "Why solve the same engineering problems over and over, when you can solve them once and reuse them across projects? With every delivery, all the IP goes to the client — as it should, because it's their product. But the foundation underneath doesn't have to be rebuilt from a blank page every time."
Dmitry Parshkov, an inventor and founder of an independent R&D lab in San Diego, explained:

I've spent two decades on both sides of that sentence. I've led teams of 175 engineers and shipped 200+ complex systems — medical devices, autonomous robots, secure communications. And I've spent years in my San Diego lab doing the opposite: inventing, filing, designing things that didn't exist yet. A manufacturing process that grows metal from light. Sensors that understand what things are made of. Devices I believed in before anyone asked for them.
The hard truth every inventor learns: ideas are cheap, prototypes are expensive, and production is brutal. The distance between a patent and a product has killed more good technology than any competitor ever will. That's why today matters. Parshkov Lab is joining forces with Promwad to build something neither of us could build alone."

What it means for clients
Promwad emphasized that its delivery model remains unchanged for existing clients in the US and Europe: the same engineering teams, the same delivery discipline, and client ownership of IP. The difference, the company said, is that clients now work with a partner that can also offer reusable engineering building blocks — not only time and expertise — allowing projects to start further along.
A permanent base in San Diego is intended to bring the company closer to its US clients, improve responsiveness, and make collaboration more reliable for customers in the American market.
