Marvell acquires Aquantia and Avera: enhancing network infrastructure innovations

On May 6, a leader in semiconductor solutions Marvell and US-based Aquantia, famous for its high-speed transceivers announced their agreement on the acquisition. The Marvell’s board of directors adopted the value of Aquantia's stocks — $ 452 million.

Aquantia’s rich experience will give a chance to expand the position of Marvell in the Multi-Gig 2.5G/5G/10G Ethernet segments.

Moreover, Marvell is aiming to pay $650 million for the acquisition of Avera. This company is known for developing so-called application-specific integrated circuits (ASIC) used in wired and wireless network infrastructures. Marvell hopes that the acquisition of Avera will make it the leader in the global market of semiconductor infrastructure solutions.

New agreements let Marvell semiconductor transform the automotive, enterprise, industrial, cloud and consumer markets by bringing the new advanced solutions.
