Promwad at NXP Technology Days Istanbul: Showcasing Multi-Camera Edge AI on i.MX 95

On October 8, Promwad will take part in NXP Technology Days in Istanbul, Turkey, presenting a live demo based on the brand-new NXP i.MX 95 applications processor family. Our setup highlights how this flagship SoC enables next-generation automotive and industrial solutions with advanced AI, multi-camera vision, and reliable connectivity.
About NXP Technology Days
This is a one-day training program designed for engineers and technical leaders. The event combines 16 hours of expert-led sessions, step-by-step instruction, and hands-on workshops, covering the most pressing design challenges and today’s trending topics.
In addition, the Technology Lab offers interactive demos with lunch included, while dedicated “Meet the Expert” networking opportunities connect participants with NXP specialists, executives, and industry peers.
The Promwad Demo
Our demo is built around the i.MX 95 development kit and includes:
- Modular acrylic framework with full set of dev kit modules
- 3× Full HD cameras + 1× 4K camera with an external monitor for HMI display
- CAN-bus LED panel for real-time event visualization, signaling human detection and gesture recognition (three predefined gestures)
Key advantages highlighted in the demo:
- Multi-camera vision pipeline: up to 4 cameras connected simultaneously, showcasing surround view, occupant monitoring, and ADAS-related features.
- Onboard networking: CAN-bus integration for real-time in-vehicle communication.
- Edge AI acceleration: integrated NPU enabling local ML inference for occupant monitoring and hand gesture recognition — without cloud dependency.

Why i.MX 95 Matters
The i.MX 95 is NXP’s flagship SoC for edge applications, designed on 16nm FinFET technology. It combines:
- 6× Arm Cortex-A55 cores + Cortex-M7 and Cortex-M33 for real-time and safety domains
- Integrated eIQ Neutron NPU for machine learning
- Advanced ISP with support for 4Kp60 or multi-FHD streams (HDR, RGB-IR)
- Arm Mali GPU with OpenGL ES 3.2 and Vulkan for immersive HMI graphics
- High-bandwidth memory: LPDDR5/LPDDR4X with ECC & encryption
- Connectivity: 1×10GbE, 2×1GbE, and 5× CAN-FD
- Security: EdgeLock secure enclave with PQC-ready crypto
- Longevity: guaranteed 15 years of product availability
Unlike closed “black box” SoCs that limit engineers to vendor pipelines, the i.MX 95 supports an OpenEdge development model. With open APIs, developers can freely customize vision pipelines, deploy ML models using TensorFlow Lite, ONNX, or PyTorch, and integrate security and safety features at the BSP level.
