The on-board device is based on GPS, GSM communication and support for multiple displays. The system can be extended with modules for video surveillance, voice alerts and event detection. Built on robust processors, it is scalable and customisable for different modes of transport. The solution improves passenger experience, ensures operational stability and reduces operating costs.Â

Solution
We developed an information system with basic components that can be easily extended with additional modules.Â
The basic set of functions, which is the foundation of the system, includes:Â
- The onboard unit is the main controller that manages the displays and is responsible for the stability of the entire system.Â
- GPS to accurately track stops and routes, plan schedules, and display location and arrival times in the mobile app.Â
- GSM communication for automatic data updates, including routes and advertisements.Â
- Displays (LED, E-Ink, LCD), both external and internal, to display destination and route number.Â
Various functions and relevant components can be added depending on the application:Â
- A passenger couting system will be used to monitor the situation in the cabin and ensure safety.Â
- Voice announcements of routes and stops for passenger convenience.Â
- Event detection includes sudden braking, opening doors, and other critical actions.Â

How It Works
The system is built around an onboard unit that controls all components and can support up to four displays connected via Ethernet or HDMI.Â
Based on powerful processors such as NXP, the system provides fast data processing and integration with various interfaces such as IBIS, RS232/RS485, USB and WLAN.Â
Integrated GPS and GSM modules synchronise the displayed information and automatically update route data. The system runs Linux, which allows for easy customisation and integration with other systems.
