Realtek releases RTD1311 — the world’s first 4K UHD Set-top Box SoC
Our chip vendor and partner, the leading integrated circuits manufacturer Realtek Semiconductor launched the new groundbreaking SoC for the devices in the telecommunication industry. The new RTD1311 4K UHD set-top box SoC is the first world solution of that kind.
No previous systems on a chip could integrate the multiple CAS or Conditional Access System functions with AV1 video encoding. But the Realtek’s RTD1311 has such a capability, serving as the superior platform for set-top boxes. Moreover, it can simultaneously respond to Satellite or Cable signals with the help of multiple TS interfaces and a built-in DVB-C demodulator.
The SoC supports the following interfaces & standards:
- HEVC 1080P encoder,
- HDMI 2.1,
- USB3.0,
- PCI-e,
- built-in far-field voice recognition.
The devices designed on the base of RTD1311 SoC will have the capabilities of secure encryption, far-field voice, and WiFi network requirements improving both user experience and the importance of the role the STB plays in the home media entertainment.
