Project in Nutshell: We provided our client with a white-label platform and developed customised applications for watching TV programmes about animals and nature. Through cross-platform development, we covered Android TV OS, iOS, and Android platforms, laying the foundation for our client's ecosystem.

The new solution increased user engagement and monetisation: the apps were downloaded over 35,000 times, and 20% of trial users returned for a paid subscription.

Client & Challenge

Our client, an animal and nature-themed content producer, faced the challenge of competing with other content providers when broadcasting on social media platforms. To effectively distribute and monetise their content, the company required applications for mobile devices and Android TV.  

The client approached us to develop a solution to solve two challenges:  

1. Expand their audience and create a unique identity.
2. Generate reliable revenue from their content.
    

Solution

Based on our experience in developing TV applications, we offered the client a complete solution consisting of an Android TV application based on a white label platform a mobile application for Android and iOS with Chromecast and Airplay support. 

The final solution has the following features:  

• Seamless content viewing thanks to the Chromecast integration and Airplay functionality: users can switch between the TV and mobile app without interrupting the video.  

• AVOD & SVOD subscription models with several variations, including monthly, quarterly, and yearly options. Free trial periods are also available to attract new users.

• Customised white-label platform, including integration of custom apps for Android TV and mobile devices.  

• Access to an extensive library of wildlife and geography-themed content categorised by genre.
