Project in a Nutshell:Â The Promwad team is developing a vehicle tracking system based on state-of-the-art telemetry technology. This solution will provide real-time diagnostics, V2V connectivity and seamless API integration with fleet and CRM platforms to help ensure safety and predictive maintenance and reduce vehicle theft.

Challenge
With the rapid growth of the delivery and shearing services industry, existing tracking and telematics technologies are becoming key. However, many devices operate on legacy 2G and 3G networks that are being phased out in Europe, creating a technology vacuum for company’s dependent on accurate vehicle monitoring.Â
Traditional trackers also do not provide the high positioning accuracy required to drive cargo bikes in dense urban traffic or for agronomic applications. In addition, integrating high positioning accuracy systems with existing fleet and CRM platforms is often difficult and costly.Â

What We Do
The Promwad team is working on a solution for cargo bike management. This project focuses on ECU vehicle tracking development and mobile/web applications tailored for different user groups: cargo bike manufacturers, owners of sharing services, and drivers.
The ECU will collect telemetry and diagnostic data and transmit it to infotainment systems via OEM servers or by providing V2V (vehicle-to-vehicle) communication.Â
Mobile and web applications will complement the device by providing convenient tools for monitoring, control and analysis.
Interfaces for mobile and web applications can be developed depending on the customer's needs
The device is planned to be equipped with 5G and GNSS with Galileo support to ensure high positioning accuracy and reduce operating costs by eliminating subscriptions to commercial services.Â
Usage Scenarios
Our solution is designed for several key user groups: bicycle manufacturers and sharing companies. With minor modifications, it can also be adapted for other applications, such as truck fleet management, animal tracking, and more.Â
Bicycle manufacturers can use it to monitor the real-time condition of bicycles, get feedback to improve product quality, and use analytics to make decisions about product recalls or upgrades.Â
Sharing companies can use it to organise work:
- Operators who, through the ECU and a dedicated app, will benefit from innovations in automotive tracking development, allowing them to manage a fleet of bikes, monitor their real-time locations, and receive information about faults or low charge levels. This will enable rapid maintenance planning and minimise downtime.Â
- Drivers who will be able to use the ECU and the connected app to build optimal delivery routes check the bike's condition before starting a journey and receive notifications of the nearest charging points.Â

- Monitor vehicle status via CAN bus, DI/DO inputs and On-Board Diagnostics.Â
- Plan maintenance: perform real-time fault diagnosis and predictive maintenance.Â
- Enhance security: build battery-aware routes and lock the device to prevent theft.Â
